1. Structure and material
Structural design
Slab caster rolls have a carefully designed structure. Its external dimensions precisely match the overall layout of the continuous casting machine to ensure that the slabs can be stably supported and guided during continuous production. The roller body usually has a smooth surface to reduce the friction of the slab during movement and prevent defects such as surface scratches.
The internal structure is reasonable and can effectively transmit power and withstand huge pressure. Some rollers may have special reinforcement structures inside to improve their overall strength and rigidity.
Material selection
The material is mostly high-quality alloy steel. This material has high strength, high toughness and good heat resistance. During the continuous casting process, the high temperature of the billet and the complex stress environment require the roller to maintain good mechanical properties at high temperatures, and the alloy steel material can meet this requirement. During the continuous casting process, the roller absorbs a lot of heat. Slab caster rolls are equipped with an efficient cooling system that can dissipate heat in time. This not only helps to protect the roller itself and prevent overheating and deformation, but also provides suitable cooling conditions for the slab, affects the internal structure of the billet, and improves the quality of the billet.
Long life
Due to the use of high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing processes, slab caster rolls have a long service life. This reduces the frequency of equipment replacement, reduces production costs, and improves the efficiency and continuity of continuous casting production. Under long-term high-intensity work, it can still maintain stable performance, providing a strong guarantee for the stable production of steel enterprises.
